SYOSSET, NEW YORK – Dr. James R. Pluth, of Chisholm, Minnesota, has been included in the Strathmore's Who's Who Worldwide Edition for his outstanding contributions and achievements in the field of healthcare.

ABOUT DR. JAMES R. PLUTH

Dr. Pluth is now retired after serving 41 years in the medical field. He served as Chief of Cardiovascular Surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, from 1975-1985 and Chief of Cardiovascular Surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona, from 1985-1999. He performed surgery on cardiac patients, focusing on valvular surgery. Dr. Pluth received his M.D. in 1956 and an M.S. in Surgery and Pathology in 1972, both from the University of Minnesota. He has written 130 articles, 27 chapters and 76 abstracts during his professional career as well as becoming a James IV Scholar in 1972. He currently resides in Iowa City, Iowa, where he enjoys growing orchids.
